Cocuzè (Co-koo-zay) takes its name from the cocoon - a symbol of metamorphosis. Guided by the permaculture ethics of Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share, we unite regenerative design, conscious luxury, and collectible, gift-worthy pieces with heirloom value. Our philosophy is simple: repair, repurpose, and redesign before replacing. Led by founder and certified permaculture designer Hemant Sahni, we apply this holistic lens to the rhythms of daily life through Alimento - growing natural food, nourishing the body, and transforming the table into a place of ritual, gathering, and meaning. Cocuzè is driven by a vision to help India reclaim its voice in the global design dialogue, reasserting its heritage as an original home of design and luxury. For us, design is poetry - lived through space, held in objects, and felt in everyday rituals.
Cocuzè designs calm, eclectic spaces with an Indian soul - where craft, nature, and considered luxury come together. We take on new builds and renovations with rigour across planning, materials, sourcing, and styling, creating homes that feel lived-in, intentional, and timeless.
The Atelier is our gallery-like curation of décor, art, furniture, and lifestyle pieces. Made in honest materials, small runs, and timeless proportions - objects chosen to age beautifully, carry provenance, and become future heirlooms, never volume retail.
Alimento brings design into everyday nourishment - growing food naturally, cooking, gathering, and sharing. Rooted in permaculture, it turns balconies and terraces into edible pockets and makes the table the hero: tools, linens, vessels, and rituals that slow time and make life more soulful.
Education is central to our idea of “Design for Living Right.” We host workshops on biophilia, balcony/terrace growing, natural materials, and responsible building - alongside creative disciplines like design, art, pottery, craft, and culinary practice - nurturing a community that lives with beauty and intent.
Founder & Chief Creative Officer Hemant, an IIM Calcutta alumnus, brings boardroom rigour and a maker’s heart to Cocuzè. He left a high-profile corporate career in America to answer a deeper calling: designing lives, not just spaces - and curating objects that carry meaning over time. Today, he shapes nature-led sanctuaries and a gallery-like collection of future heirlooms - quietly luxurious, unmistakably personal, meant to be lived, not just looked at.
Alimento is Cocuzè’s way of bringing permaculture into everyday living. It begins with edible balconies, terraces, other such spaces and chemical-free growing, then flows into the kitchen and the table - tools, vessels, linens, and rituals designed to slow you down. Nourishment here isn’t only food; it’s atmosphere, intention, and the quiet joy of a well-made meal. From soil to plate, Alimento makes the table the heart of the home.
Every testimonial reflects how our collection transforms spaces into warm, inviting, and soulful sanctuaries.
